Class Descriptions

Alignment Based Yoga
A challenging practice that involves slow sustained stretches, held poses and a core body workout allowing for strength building, muscle toning and healing of both the body and mind.  Attention to alignment to rehabilitate old injuries and prevent injuries.  Suitable for all levels but physically challenging.

Candlelight Yoga
This class helps you to leave the stresses of the day behind you. Performed in candle light with views of an illuminated city in the background, sustained postures are connected by fluid transitional movements (vinyasa) and focus on breathing to create internal heat. Suitable for all levels but physically challenging.

Functional Yoga
A regular practice, at your fitness level, can improve mental clarity, lead to better posture and increase energy.  Students learn how to adapt yoga poses around individual injuries or tightness to bring comfort and ease to your body.  Special attention is focused on alignment. A variety of props are used, including The WEDGE-EE®. Class follows the philosophy of “No Strain…No Pain…All Gain®”.  Suitable for all levels – the older yogi, the “non-flexible” and those with injuries.

Lunch Hour Yoga
In one hour, improve poor workplace posture – “shlumpasana” and “slouchasana” – and reduce any accompanying pain.  Focused breathing reduces stress and helps to re-energize you for the rest of the day.  Gain flexibility, strength and balance during a mid-day break.  Suitable for all levels.

Partner Yoga
In any relationship, trust and communication are key.  Partner Yoga utilizes both, building a stronger bond between people.  Because you know your partner, you’re able to truly relax and go deeper in the poses.  Partners can be significant others, friends or children.  No experience is necessary but a sense of humor helps! Suitable for all levels.

All classes are limited to 10 students to ensure individual attention and focus on alignment.
